ISEAL is excited to welcome CottonConnect as an ISEAL Community Member. Working with an organisation with expertise and systems that support capacity building in the cotton supply chain is a great opportunity for ISEAL, and we are excited to support them in their contribution to the community.
ISEAL members are sustainability systems and accreditation bodies dedicated to delivering benefits for people and planet. They are committed to continually improving their systems and impacts through learning and innovation; collaborating with stakeholders and peers; and are transparent and truthful about how their systems work and how they measure their impacts.
In becoming an ISEAL Community Member, CottonConnect joins a growing number of well-respected sustainability systems that are driving positive social and environmental change across multiple sectors. CottonConnect will be working alongside these mission-driven sustainability organisations to continuously improve the effectiveness of their systems and demonstrate impact.
Further to the approval from the ISEAL Board on the 6 May 2022, ISEAL’s Executive Director, Karin Kreider, commented “I am delighted to welcome CottonConnect as an ISEAL Community Member. Their novel standards system focusses on improving how training and capacity building is delivered to cotton farmers, to support better sustainability outcomes. This exciting step reflects their commitment to ongoing improvement and deepening their credible practices. I look forward to CotttonConnect bringing their knowledge and experience to the ISEAL community.”
Alison Ward, CEO at CottonConnect said, “Here at CottonConnect we are all delighted to become an ISEAL Community Member. We look forward to exploring new ideas, contributing to thought leadership and networking with other members of the community. As a social enterprise focused on creating more robust, resilient and successful raw material supply chains, our membership will help us improve our systems so we can have even greater impact in our work benefiting the many smallholder farmers whom we are there to serve.”
We encourage any organisation developing or operating a sustainability system with a multi-stakeholder approach and a commitment to credible practices to consider joining ISEAL.
