This project aims to enhance the detection and management of human rights risks within the coffee supply chain by improving social auditing practices.
The global coffee supply chain faces significant challenges in addressing human rights issues such as child labour, discrimination, and harassment, which are often difficult to detect through traditional agricultural audits.
In this project, an inclusive social auditing training programme and internal monitoring procedures will be developed using a participatory process that ensures all voices are heard and integrated. Pilots will refine the tools and techniques developed, ensuring that they are well-suited to the realities of coffee production, and to assess their replicability in other sustainability systems.
