ISEAL is pleased to announce that Green Seal has recently been approved as an ISEAL Community Member. We warmly welcome one of the very first eco-label systems in the marketplace to the ISEAL community, and look forward to benefitting from the experience of such an established initiative.
Green Seal is a global non-profit organization that pioneered the ecolabeling movement with a mission to transform the economy for a healthier, greener world. For more than 30 years, Green Seal’s rigorous standards for health, sustainability and product performance have driven permanent shifts in the marketplace, empowering better purchasing decisions and rewarding industry innovators. With thousands of certified products, services and spaces from the world’s leading companies, the Green Seal certification mark is a universal symbol that a product or service meets a high benchmark of health and environmental leadership.
Further to the approval from the ISEAL Board on the 1 December 2022, ISEAL’s Executive Director, Karin Kreider, commented, “Green Seal was one of the very first eco-label systems in the marketplace, and I am very pleased to welcome them to the ISEAL community. Over the past 30 years they have provided an important contribution to the challenges to reduce harmful manufacturing inputs and processes across a range of products — a welcome addition to the ISEAL learning community.”
Doug Gatlin, Green Seal CEO added, “We are proud that Green Seal has been accepted as a Community Member by the leading global membership organization that supports ambitious sustainability systems to tackle the world's most pressing challenges. Green Seal has long been respected as a credible eco-certifier on the global stage, and ISEAL community membership pushes us to reach new levels of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement to achieve our mission. ISEAL’s rigorous standards for governance, transparency and credibility align with Green Seal’s long-held values — we are thrilled to join this elite, committed group of organizations.”
ISEAL membership
ISEAL members are sustainability systems and accreditation bodies dedicated to delivering benefits for people and planet. They are committed to continually improving their systems and impacts through learning and innovation; collaborating with stakeholders and peers; and are transparent and truthful about how their systems work and how they measure their impacts.
In becoming an ISEAL Community Member, Green Seal joins a growing number of well-respected sustainability systems that are driving positive social and environmental change across multiple sectors. Green Seal will be working alongside these mission-driven sustainability organisations to continuously improve the effectiveness of their systems and demonstrate impact.
We encourage any organisation developing or operating a sustainability system with a multi-stakeholder approach and a commitment to credible practices to consider joining ISEAL.
