Small-scale farmers face growing challenges, from rising costs to strict supply chain requirements that often overlook their local realities. These pressures make sustainable farming harder to achieve, even as farmers are expected to contribute to global climate action.
This project focuses on making their efforts visible and measurable by using Geospatial Information Technology for Outcome Verification (GIT4OV). By introducing this innovative technology at the field level, the project aims to help farmers showcase their sustainable practices, ensuring these efforts are visible and verified. It will also enable farmers to benefit from localised information, improved communication with peers, and support for navigating supply chain requirements.
The aim is to set the foundations to strengthen farmer livelihoods – positioning them to maintain market access, unlock new incentives, and build resilience in the face of increasing challenges.
