The Rainforest Alliance has launched a draft version for public consultation of the new sustainable agriculture standard. This is the result of a long and intense internal iteration process and constitutes a change of direction from the former UTZ and RA standards. In this new iteration of the standard, gender equality is more prominently incorporated and the approach towards human rights issues like child labor, forced labor and (gender based) abuse or harassment has changed from a “no tolerance” to a so-called “assess and address” approach.
This webinar is an opportunity for you to find out about how RA has operated this shift, its implications and hear about the opportunities and challenges of this new approach.
This webinar will also be an opportunity for RA to collect constructive feedback from fellow certification schemes and stakeholders on how the standard could be further improved.
